The opportunity: As the Senior Lines Support Engineer you will play a critical role in providing engineering expertise for the delivery of Transmission Lines work across the Powerlink Network. This position involves assessing risks and offering specialised technical guidance on all Transmission Lines operations, ensuring the safety and reliability of Powerlink's High Voltage Transmission Network. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, approving, and implementing technical procedural documents and providing Professional Engineering (RPEQ) advice. Further to this you will; Provide technical leadership and support in key operational, maintenance, and asset risk management decisions Offer Professional Engineering (RPEQ) advice to the business and Maintenance Service Providers (MSPs) Develop and implement standards and technical strategies for Transmission Lines Ensure robust systems are in place for testing and verifying Transmission Lines Investigate and report on issues related to the integrity of Transmission Lines Prepare and execute training for field personnel on the latest Transmission Lines philosophies and equipment Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative Acts, Standards, and Codes of Practice The people you'll join: Located in Brisbane, you will join our Operational Engineering Team, reporting directly into our Principal Engineer for Lines Field Engineering. This role offers a chance to bring your expertise and drive innovative solutions in the High Voltage (HV) electrical engineering space. What you'll bring: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with strong technical knowledge in Transmission Lines Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) You will have expert knowledge of the design, maintenance, and construction of Transmission Lines. You will have a proven ability to lead condition assessment techniques and manage complex maintenance on Transmission Lines assets. Strong technical leadership skills and ability to manage relationships with field staff is essential. Additionally, you should be skilled at adapting and recommending work methodologies to support business objectives. A thorough understanding of relevant legislative requirements, including the Electricity Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, and Environmental Protection Act, is also necessary.
