Job Description

We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen. It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you. Come and be part of a collaborative team where the focus is on partnering with the Division you support and building a deep knowledge of their value chain. The role offers a combination of opportunities with both the customer facing and supports functions of Bendigo Bank. You’ll love the uniqueness of our environment – both breadth and depth in a role, empowered accountability and where you can contribute your ideas. Your management accounting expertise will inform, influence and drive commercial decisions. Known internally as Senior Manager Business Financial Performance in our Group Finance Division, you’ll make an impact by: Ensuring the delivery of quality information and reporting to a designated Division of the Bank. Directly partnering with your Executive and Exec +1 to provide key insights and commercial analysis to drive decision making. Leading a team of finance specialists to partner with the Division in the provision of performance reporting and analysis including board, divisional and business unit performance reporting. This is a permanent full-time position that can be based in our Melbourne or Adelaide Head Offices. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model of minimum two days per week in the office, increasing to 60% in July 2025. What you’ll bring to the role To succeed in this role, we’d love you to have: Strong knowledge of management accounting methodologies including an understanding of return on equity, profit after capital charge and levers of driving Cost to Income. Extensive hands-on experience/detailed commercial understanding of profit drivers, ideally in a financial institution. Highly developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and effectively challenge. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey commercial concepts clearly and succinctly. Previous experience leading and developing a team is preferred. Professional accounting qualifications (CA/CPA or equivalent). So, why work for us? Want to be more than just a number? Join a team that truly values you and the diverse contribution you make, every day. You’ll also get access to a great range of benefits, including: Flexibility means different things for different people. Whether it’s hybrid work, flexible hours, a compressed work week, job-sharing or something different, our flexible work options are designed to put people first. Health and wellbeing support, including discounted gym memberships, private health insurance options, and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family members. Opportunities to take your learning to the next level through our corporate university ‘BEN U’ or at an external provider of your choice. We believe a diverse workforce supported by an inclusive culture is central to our success and we actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity of thought to our business. We support candidate requests for adjustment to accommodate an illness, injury, or disability to equitably participate in the selection process. Still in two minds? Research suggests 60% of women and underrepresented groups might stop here, so even if you don’t tick every box we still want to see your application! We’re making better, bigger. And we’ll get there with you. Now’s the time to set your sights even higher – on the future you and the future career you deserve. Please note shortlisting and interviews may take place prior to the advertised close date, so don't delay: apply now! #J-18808-Ljbffr
