Job Description

As Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics, you will leverage data and cutting-edge analytical techniques to derive actionable insights and recommendations to enhance Westpac’s marketing strategy and tactics. You will be a top-gun data practitioner yourself, comfortable with getting things done individually, and able to lead a project team with diverse skillsets to scale up when needed. Key Responsibilities: Managing the development and maintenance of data pipelines, analytical models and reporting platforms, ensuring data quality, accuracy and consistency. Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of Westpac's customer base, including customer behaviour, preferences and needs, and identifying opportunities for optimisation and growth. Possess a deep understanding of the customer marketing lifecycle and its key metrics across the entire funnel, from awareness to conversion. Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable insights, develop statistical models, and create clear visualizations that drive informed decision-making. Experience working in an agile environment with a strong understanding of agile principles, including work estimation, prioritization, sprint frameworks, and story points, enabling efficient and high-paced execution. Collaborate closely with Marketing Managers and strategic marketers to foster strong partnerships with product portfolios and develop strategies that maximize customer outcomes. Adopt a risk-first mindset, leveraging established risk frameworks and guardrails to ensure compliance and informed decision-making. Be a proactive AI enthusiast and early adopter, with a strong ability to identify and implement AI-driven use cases that unlock business value and drive operational efficiencies. What do I need? The successful candidate will have: Demonstrated self-starter with experience in Advanced Analytics, Data Visualization, Data Science or related field with experience in delivering end to end projects. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing analytics strategies, including customer segmentation, BI/MI suites for ELT consumption and delivery of strategic insights to drive business outcomes. Experience using programming languages such as Python, R and SQL for data analysis and modelling. Experience in data preparation, cleaning, and transformation to ensure data quality and integrity. Experience in data visualization tools, especially Power BI. Experience in DAX programming or usage of Copilot for insights is a bonus. Exposure to Agile ways of working and planning. Experience with big data platforms and/or cloud computing is preferred. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner. What’s it like to work there?
