About the opportunity In the newly created position of Senior Manager, Major Partnerships , you will take charge of executing strategic partnerships with major partners. Leverage your expertise to analyse partner goals, market positions, and growth opportunities, creating tailored strategies that align with both Australia Post's objectives and partner priorities. Foster collaboration internally and externally to drive sustainable growth, enhance mutual value, and unlock the full potential of each partnership. Through a combination of strategic vision, relationship management, and operational excellence, this position will deliver transformational outcomes that support organisational goals and maximise value creation for the partnership. This is a 2-year, fixed term opportunity and open to Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane locations. What you’ll deliver with us Joining the Major Partnerships & Innovation team within our Retail, Brand and Marketing division, you will own the ongoing development and implementation of the partnership strategy, managing and scaling retail trials with businesses in the partner’s domain and pursuing non-retail opportunities leveraging the unique assets and capabilities of Australia Post. Working with your growing team, you will use a strategic lens to identify opportunities in the retail partnership, design trials to test them, and manage a team of internal and external SMEs to bring the high-value opportunities to life at scale. You’ll also Lead the negotiation of terms and conditions of new partnerships, securing mutually beneficial agreements that align with strategic priorities and drive sustainable, long-term financial and customer success for both parties. Proactively explore, assess and recommend innovative models and approaches for the Retail network, leveraging customer insights and market research to enhance service offerings and create competitive advantage. Assess and document the full range of partnership opportunities available to Retail. Evaluate and rank these opportunities based on their strategic importance/impact and difficulty. Manage execution of the scaling of the partnership, balancing the transformation potential of the partnership with impacts on the current network. About you You are a dynamic and ambitious professional with experience negotiating high-value, complex partnerships within large organisations, ideally possessing a solid working knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements. With a sharp mind and positive attitude, you can learn and adapt quickly, excelling in agile and ever-evolving environments while always keeping the success of our partners and customers in mind. You’ll also need Proven experience in strategic thinking and the execution of strategic initiatives, preferably within the retail sector. Expertise in conducting market analysis, competitive analysis, and financial analysis to shape innovative strategies and assess long-term partnership viability, preferably as part of a top-tier consultancy or internal strategy or M&A team. Proven experience negotiating high-value, complex partnerships with a focus on creating sustainable terms for both parties that support strategic goals. Understanding of current and emerging trends in the retail industry, including omnichannel retailing, e-commerce, and customer experience enhancements. Working knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements affecting partnerships and contracts in the retail and logistics space, ensuring all collaborations comply with governance standards and industry regulations (preferred, but not required).
