Sydney 13-Feb-2025 Permanent - Full time, Mid-senior Compliance & Regulatory, Risk Management Join our Global Financial Crime team based in Sydney and support the Group Head of Sanctions to drive the firm’s sanctions screening strategy in coordination with key business, technology and operations stakeholders. As a Senior Manager, you will act as the Line 2 Financial Crime Risk Lead on sanctions screening controls (name and payment screening), developing and maintaining sanctions screening related policies, standards and guidance. You will ensure appropriate oversight over the operation of the firm’s screening systems, related data and end-to-end processes and control environment to ensure these are operating effectively and that the firm is meeting its regulatory and policy requirements. You will contribute to change projects aimed at the development and enhancement of Macquarie’s sanctions control framework, to ensure it is commensurate with regulatory expectations and industry best practice for a global financial institution. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support the global sanctions team in maintaining and evolving Macquarie’s sanctions related controls, delivering training, and engaging with stakeholders across all regions and business lines to provide advice on complex sanctions matters. What you offer Demonstrable experience in a second line sanctions compliance role in an equivalent financial institution. Strong understanding of global sanctions requirements. Detailed knowledge of end-to-end name and payment screening systems, processes, risks and controls. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across multiple divisions and regions. Exposure to change projects relating to sanctions screening will be highly regarded.
