About the role: In this leadership role, you will provide strategic tax advice, manage client relationships, and lead a high-performing team to deliver exceptional service. Reporting directly to the Partner, you will be instrumental in driving client satisfaction, business development, and team growth. Key Responsibilities: Client Service: Deliver tailored taxation consulting services, including tax planning, compliance, and advisory for a diverse client base. Review and finalise tax returns across various structures (companies, trusts, individuals, partnerships, FBT, BAS). Conduct thorough research and provide actionable recommendations on complex taxation issues. Stay updated on evolving tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal client outcomes. Leadership and People Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants to achieve professional growth and exceptional performance. Foster a collaborative and client-focused team culture through coaching, training, and empowerment. Delegate and oversee client work, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery. Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the Taxation division’s fee base and enhance the firm’s industry profile. Actively participate in networking events, client presentations, and industry forums. Collaborate with other divisions to cross-sell services and expand client relationships. Operational Excellence: Manage division workflow, budgets, WIP, and billing to achieve financial and operational targets. Ensure adherence to technical standards and regulatory quality assurance requirements. Develop and implement effective taxation and business strategies for clients. About you: You are a highly analytical and solution-focused professional with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills. You possess strong communication and interpersonal abilities, that enable you to build trust and rapport with clients and team members alike. Qualifications, knowledge and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business (Accounting), Law, or related field. CA, CPA, CTA qualification (Master of Taxation is desirable). Minimum 10 years of experience in Australian taxation services within a professional services environment. Experience with larger client groups and sophisticated business structures with multiple entities and technical complexity. Proven expertise in complex tax matters, including income tax, CGT, GST, FBT, payroll tax, and Division 7A. Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of mentoring high-performing teams. Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and the Microsoft Office suite.
