Our client is on the hunt for a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer with a passion for designing and managing projects within the minerals processing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, initially on a 12-month contract, with a focus on minerals process plant design. You will be working alongside knowledgeable professionals in a collaborative environment, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects. What you'll do: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our client's minerals processing projects. Your expertise will be utilised across various aspects of project management, from developing mechanical engineering deliverables to overseeing project reviews. You'll coordinate with design and drafting teams, monitor project progress, manage studies and small site projects, and drive continuous improvement in project delivery and safety standards. Additionally, you'll engage in business development activities to build client confidence and foster strong industry relationships. Develop mechanical engineering deliverables, including package engineering, calculations, and plant design. Oversee project reviews of mechanical deliverables. Coordinate with design and drafting teams to ensure smooth progress. Monitor project progress, schedules, and ensure adherence to quality management procedures. Manage studies and small site projects, including handling variations. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and safety standards. Engage in business development to build client confidence and foster strong industry relationships. What you bring: The ideal candidate for this Senior Mechanical Engineer position brings a wealth of experience in minerals process plant design. You will ideally have a strong background with wet plant design with exposure to dry plant design. Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia. 8+ years of experience in minerals process plant design. Strong knowledge of various processes and unit operations. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to manage project studies and produce accurate estimates. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. Full unlimited working rights in Australia.
