In this role, you'll: You will be responsible for developing, evaluating and implementing road network strategies using SCATS, traffic signal operations and modelling analysis to support road network performance and road safety outcomes. Key accountabilities will include but are not limited to: Identify and implement traffic signal operations that are required to improve the performance of the road network by optimising road corridors to achieve network efficiency. Review and provide expert advice for traffic signal design plans on road networks prepared and submitted by Transport staff, private developers and Local Councils to ensure they meet operational requirements, identify the impact of intersection operations and ensure signals can be configured to accommodate the needs of the network. Identify critical issues including determining causes and apply specialist knowledge to design and develop innovative solutions to improve network performance. You will have to demonstrate experience, knowledge and understanding of traffic management and the operation of the road network. With strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills you will have experience delivering on tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail never losing sight of the customer. You will have demonstrated drive and commitment to your work and have effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders at various levels. Essential requirements also include: Tertiary qualification in related discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) and/or equivalent experience in a related field. Demonstrated experience in Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) operations and in the optimising techniques used by SCATS will be highly regarded. The salary for this position is USD 7 ($105,156 - $110,979) per annum plus superannuation. Please note this is a temporary role until 30 June 2026.
