Director, Procurement and ContractsFull-time Permanent Details : Strategic Finance is seeking a motivated, well organised person who can work independently and as a team member to effectively perform the role and functions of Director, Procurement and Contracts. They should possess an excellent understanding of procurement frameworks with strong experience in public sector procurement and contract management, and be client focused with excellent communication skills. Strategic Finance is responsible for the analysis of current and emerging economic, financial, budget and procurement issues, developing financial and procurement strategies for the Directorate, providing advice on financial performance and trends, oversight of procurement policy and compliance and supporting business units with financial and procurement needs. The successful applicant will be required to: Administer the procurement and contract management assurance program and use findings to drive process improvements in the Directorate. Continuously enhance procurement processes, templates and guidelines. Provide technical advice and operational support on procurement and contract activities as required. Use procurement principles and legal guidelines to find best practice solutions. Offer regular training and information on procurement and contract management. Develop and maintain content for the Procurement and Contract Management intranet page. Maintain records as per the Territory Records Act 2002. Understand audit, risk management, and quality assurance processes. Improve business results through innovative approaches. Collaborate with stakeholders and manage sensitive issues. Lead a small team effectively in high-pressure environments. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Advanced knowledge of government procurement and contract/project management is highly desirable. Project delivery experience is desirable. Qualifications in procurement / contract management or equivalent qualifications, or significant progress towards gaining them is highly desirable. Note: This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
