Division: Strategy Policy and Commissioning Location: Parramatta, NSW, AU, 2150 Senior Policy and Projects Officer Location: Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available Employment type: Ongoing full-time role Salary: $125,693 pa - $138,510 pa, plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The Senior Project and Policy Officer within the Crime Prevention team leads crime prevention programs, with strong collaboration with key external agencies. We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated, and collaborative candidate who brings strong program and policy skills to lead key projects that support reduction in contact with the criminal justice system, through programs such as the Traffic Offenders Intervention Program and Work Development Orders scheme. What you’ll do You will lead policy development, manage program delivery, commission evaluations, undertake procurement, and coordinate stakeholders across agencies to address and support the management of the programs. Further, you will provide strategic advice on programs and policy issues, and progress key opportunities for crime prevention programs. The Crime Prevention Team provides advice on crime prevention policy, develops evidence-based and innovative crime prevention initiatives, and manages a range of crime prevention programs. This team sits within the Women, Family and Community Safety Directorate, where it has a strong focus on working closely with local communities, including Aboriginal communities, to develop innovative, community-led responses to crime prevention and improving criminal justice outcomes. What we’re looking for Significant experience leading the development and delivery of strategic projects related to crime prevention programs in the context of the NSW criminal justice system, or other similar experience with criminal justice reform and/or individuals with complex needs. Educational qualifications, professional training, or relevant experience in a related field. Strong analytical and writing skills. Experience in project management and strong ability to build purposeful partnerships across the Department and with Government partners. Strong ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, coordinate and support program strategic and operational governance groups.
