The Senior Program Officer role in the Circular Economy Programs team works collaboratively with other areas of the department, local councils, community groups, and industry bodies to identify strategies that help reduce waste generation, improve resource recovery across and contribute to the development of the circular economy in Queensland. Your Contribution The Office of Circular Economy is responsible for leading policies and initiatives to elevate Queensland's resource recovery performance to one of the best in Australia by developing and implementing actions that recognise the value of waste to the economy as well as facilitate investment in innovation, processing facilities, and market development. The department is seeking motivated and collaborative professionals to contribute to this significant agenda. The team is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating programs and initiatives that: improve resource recovery infrastructure and equipment across Queensland inform and test strategies to enhance resource recovery, waste reduction, and the adoption of circular economy principles contribute to the targets established in Queensland's Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy. This position requires: Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and delivery of projects and grant programs by managing tasks, tracking project milestones and reporting, and identifying and managing risks and issues with a focus on accountability and timely deliverables. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including an ability to provide analysis and evidence-based advice about the contribution of programs towards resource recovery and circular economy objectives. Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including contributing to the preparation of presentations, written reports, briefing materials, and planning documents to support ongoing programs. Demonstrated skills in consultation, negotiation, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of projects and grant programs. An ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, establish priorities, and work as an effective member of a team to successfully contribute to organisational objectives.
