About the role As Senior Rates Property Officer you will be part of the Rates Property team and contribute your expertise to the maintenance of council's rating records and systems. Your main focus will be the ongoing creation and maintenance of property and valuation records as well as providing training and guidance to team members in other aspects of the rating functions. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Work with the Rates/Property Coordinator to manage the database and production of rates, ensuring deadlines and goals are met Coach and guide the team, handling complex queries from administration officers Lead and maintain property/subdivision records in Pathway Process valuation data from the Department of Natural Resources and calculate rate adjustments in Pathway Plan and prioritise tasks to meet objectives for the Treasury Accounting section To be successful in this role you will have: Substantial experience in rating/property processes, preferably in a local government environment Substantial knowledge of local government differential general rates, charges, concession and discounts, valuations, and the creation of property/subdivision records Substantial skills in Microsoft suite of products as well as demonstrated experience in integrated rating/property software About the benefits This is a permanent full time, level 4 position with a salary commencing at $89,396 plus 12.5% superannuation.
