To 26 Dec 25 $89.84/hr + Super (40 hours) Hybrid working / CBD / Travelling About the role: Within ITB, the Enterprise Information Services (EIS) Unit develops information management and information governance standards and processes and provides expert advice to manage information throughout its lifecycle. As a Senior Records Management Officer, you will engage in-person across portions of School Regions with regional, divisional, and school administrative staff to provide support in the appropriate appraisal and sentencing of records in compliance with Queensland State Archives approved Schedules and relevant Departmental policies and procedures, to meet legislative requirements and strategic information governance objectives of the department. Key Responsibilities: Participate proactively with major programs at state-wide level and of critical importance to the department, operating within broad policy guidelines, with responsibility for a service wide function, including but not limited to: Provide training support and advice to school administrative staff regarding the appraisal and sentencing of large volumes of physical departmental records held within a school environment. Provide accurate advice to school administrative staff regarding the preparation and defensible destruction of records. Identify records for transfer to Queensland State Archives for permanent retention. Provide advice to school administrative staff on the ongoing archiving and storage of physical records. Undertake required project activities including providing progress reports, identifying risks, liaising with project management and information management staff, and acting as the accountable senior archivist in supporting school staff to prepare and dispose of records. Provide advice and training regarding records management to school staff and other departmental staff, including mentoring other staff and contractors as directed. Prepare reports, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence for consideration by project and records management. Mandatory Requirement - Travel: Willingness/ability to travel by plane or car and work primarily on-site in schools across the State of Queensland due to the requirement to assess physical records that must stay on premise. Weekly estimate of travel can be up to 3 days out of the office per week. Experience: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills - ability to interact professionally with a wide range of departmental clients. Experience in training and mentoring other staff in records management. Strong understanding of sound change management. Experience in appraising and sentencing records of all formats to meet the legislative obligations of a public sector agency. Experience in the management of records at a strategic governance level e.g., in compliance to organisation-wide processes and practices to provide a consistent and integrated approach to records management, within a government department. Experience in delivering support and guidance in full compliance with enterprise-wide records management practices in a large, diverse public sector organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
