A small dedicated team developing and implementing solutions to ensure timely, effective and responsive outcomes for our customers. About the Role The Senior Spare Parts Specialist role is to train, mentor, support and coordinate Spare Parts Specialists, for all Programs in identifying, and assisting in the supply of parts to customers and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) providers, specifically: Identifying alternate suppliers and supporting engineering and quality in the development of vendors. Identification and validation of the spare part data through the effective use of a number of IT systems, engineering resources and drawings. Soliciting, receiving, evaluating and processing quotations for the supply of spare parts and completing inventory transactions in SAP, including purchase and sales orders, delivery notes and invoices, and liaison with our customers and 3PL. Collating and utilising data to inform stock and order determination. Collating data to develop internal and external reports and manage the automatisation of these reports. As Senior Spare Part Specialist, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include: Report all tasks and output of all material specialists to Team lead or Manager. Control the daily parts interpretation function for the Field Service Representatives and other stakeholders, using IT systems, engineering drawings and bills of material. Oversee the acknowledgment and placing of orders for spare parts and invoicing customers using SAP. Maintaining and Updating the In Service Support Data Base (ISSDB). Process and action Defence Web orders and quotation requests. Assist in the identification of non-codified parts from the MRSL/RPL. Support the manager to ensure the teams timely issue of parts for painting to RGM and the return RMMVA/RDA. Monitor paint costs against the paint percentage charged for the part to help with analysis of future paint pricing. Maintaining all required excel spreadsheets and databases. Warehouse inventory and stock control, in conjunction with RDA warehouses, including yearly stock take. Supporting the In-Service Support team to identify and address parts requirements. Using the Supply systems in accordance with relevant IT Security policies and system operations manuals. These systems may include the RMMVA In-Service Support Database, RMMV Global Parts system, Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS) and any interfacing supplier Dealer Management Systems. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: Experience with heavy commercial or similar vehicles. Sound experience in the supply of spare parts and use of inventory management systems. Extensive technical knowledge to be able to access and interpret engineering drawings and other resources to identify relevant part numbers. Experience with military vehicles and modules/mission systems (including tippers, tankers, stores units etc.) (Preferable).
