Job Description

The Role Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced individual to join their dynamic team in the Riverina district. This opportunity involves working on a large-scale sheep and cropping operation, which is part of a progressive family-run business that encompasses four primary properties. The business runs a large number of self-replacing merino ewes and a large-scale irrigated and dryland summer and winter cropping operation. It utilises both spray and flood irrigation to produce winter grazing crops and pastures as well as summer crops as water allocations allow. A forward-moving enterprise, it continually seeks ways to fine-tune operations through consistent investment in land development, infrastructure, and machinery. The livestock enterprise is centred around the purpose of replacing merino ewes with a position joined to terminal rams producing lambs aimed for trade; cattle are also traded periodically to take full advantage of seasonal feed. Efficiency and, therefore, the use of technology is paramount to how the business operates, utilising all up-to-date modern equipment with excellent infrastructure, providing an enjoyable and safe workplace. Utilising your previous sheep and cropping experience, you will be involved in all facets of the business, including stock work, irrigation and machinery operation, creating great diversity within the role throughout the year. All staff are involved in the general maintenance and repair of machinery and infrastructure, so mechanical inclination and fabricating abilities will assist in your success. The Offer The successful candidate will receive competitive remuneration based on their experience. They will also receive a work vehicle and a recently renovated 4-bedroom home set amidst established gardens. The position is located on a historic property that is conveniently situated 45 km from both Swan Hill and Barham, featuring extensive river frontage that provides unique lifestyle benefits.
