Role As a Senior Storage Engineer in the Cloud Infrastructure Storage team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our global storage environment. You’ll work alongside a technically diverse team of engineers, applying your expertise to solve complex challenges, optimize operations, and drive innovation. What you get to do in this role Oversee the daily operational health of the global storage environment, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues. Deploy and manage a worldwide fleet of storage systems to meet performance and capacity needs. Lead or contribute to strategic projects, such as storage migrations, capacity planning, and system upgrades. Serve as an escalation point for advanced technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendor support to achieve timely resolutions. Proactively identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability. Stay current with emerging storage technologies and trends, applying new insights to the environment. Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers, fostering technical growth across the team. Actively contribute to documentation, ensuring processes and technical standards are clearly defined and consistently updated. Qualifications To be successful in this role you have: Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry. 4+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering and operations within complex environments. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage issues. Advanced understanding and knowledge of storage protocols (e.g., NFS, iSCSI, NVMe/NVMeoF) and enterprise-class storage hardware (e.g., Dell, Pure, HP, NetApp). Solid understanding of supporting technologies, including: Networking fundamentals and architecture. Server platforms and virtualization (e.g., VMware ESXi). Linux systems administration (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat). Excellent communication, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams. Strong documentation skills with a commitment to documentation and process improvement. Ability to learn new technologies and modify existing processes and procedures as needed. Commitment to quality of work and attention to detail. A proactive mindset, with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Team-oriented attitude, with a focus on collaboration and driving results as a group. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing storage environments at scale (e.g., multi-datacenter, petabyte-level storage). Hands-on experience with object storage solutions or cloud-native storage technologies. Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to improve operational efficiency.
