About the Opportunity EnergyCo’s Strategy & Policy division plays a pivotal role in shaping the organisation by developing strategies, delivering high-quality analysis that supports executive and board decision-making, and building relationships with key stakeholders. The Strategy team is seeking a Senior Strategy Officer to help drive EnergyCo’s corporate strategy, engage leadership, and develop and execute strategies and initiatives that support EnergyCo’s goals. The Senior Strategy Officer will lead the development of strategies and initiatives to help EnergyCo achieve its vision of an affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy future for NSW. The role will work closely with the Director of Strategy and Relationships and team manager to engage organisational leadership, set priorities, and coordinate cross-functional teams across the organisation. This role is a unique opportunity to help shape EnergyCo’s strategic priorities and direction, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and influence the energy transition. Working with the team and across the organisation, the role will monitor market trends, policy developments, and stakeholder landscapes, identify risks and opportunities, and craft clear key messages and recommendations, including for Board papers and ministerial briefings. It will coordinate strategic projects, manage resources, and build relationships to drive collaboration across the organisation and sector. This position is at the centre of how EnergyCo coordinates investment and delivery of network, generation, and storage infrastructure to help meet NSW’s renewable energy, energy security, and emissions reduction targets in a dynamic energy landscape. About You We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on problem solver with strategy experience – whether in consulting, an in-house corporate strategy function, or a government division. You thrive in tackling complex challenges and quickly becoming a content expert in strategic focus areas. Experience within the electricity or energy industry is beneficial but not essential. Your understanding of the policy environment and its implications equips you to develop informed, actionable recommendations. As an expert qualitative and quantitative problem solver, you bring an analytical mindset and collaborative spirit to a high-performing, close-knit team. You’re adept at dividing and conquering, building relationships, and coordinating across silos, and managing workstreams – working seamlessly with your team and colleagues to deliver results. Operating as a cohesive unit, the team values initiative, shared ownership, and a commitment to excellence and positive impact. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as economics, finance, public policy, engineering, and/or equivalent relevant experience are required.
