Location: Pakenham, Australia Sector: Engineering Salary: $130,000.00 to $145,000.00 per annum Role & Company Details: We are seeking a senior structural engineer with a passion for steel and concrete design and exposure to local heavy/light industrial, commercial, and residential building projects. Ideally, you will have extensive design experience including the detailed design of complex reinforced concrete and structural steel structures and foundations.Our client is a design consultant working closely with asset owners and other consultants within the water/wastewater industries, mining/oil gas production/facilities, and building manufacturing environments. As a result of business growth and the director's ambition to expand this consulting practice, we are seeking a senior engineer with either strong team leader experience or the capacity to lead and mentor a team of junior to mid-level engineers. Responsibilities: Conduct detailed structural analysis, calculations, produce designs and design documentation using relevant software and industry standards; experience with finite element analysis will be highly favourable. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of five structural engineers. Manage engineering projects including the supervision of drafting subcontractors. Collaborate with architects, design teams, project managers, and other engineering professionals. Resolve a range of engineering issues and problems, compile technical reports and accompanying presentations. Manage the verification of the design in accordance with the company quality system. Liaise with your team and industry experts to maintain your knowledge and understanding of trends and technology in structural engineering. Bring a high level of professionalism and great communication skills to carry out stakeholder interaction with clients, providing recommendations for solutions and needed actions. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards or vulnerabilities in structures for potential impact on safety and functionality. On Offer: Full-time permanent role. Tertiary Qualification in Structural Engineering. Member of Engineers Australia and PE certified (RPEng or CPEng will be very highly regarded). 10-15 years+ local experience in a design consultant environment (must have local project experience). Understanding of construction methods and their effect on design. Extensive experience with reinforced concrete and structural steel design (essential). A great sense of humour and a strong desire to foster positive office morale and commitment to supporting others.
