Added Thursday 13th of March 2025 11:42:11 AM Senior Systems Administrator - Active Directory & VMware Hardening Milestone IT is partnering with a leading Healthcare organisation to recruit a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join their dynamic IT team. This is a critical role focused on enhancing the security and performance of their core infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Active Directory and VMware virtualisation. About the Role: In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and secure Active Directory Group Policies and VMware environments. You will play a key role in proactively hardening these systems to mitigate risks and ensure optimal performance. This is a hands-on technical position requiring deep expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Active Directory Group Policy Hardening: Conduct thorough reviews of existing Group Policies, identifying vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. Design and implement new Group Policies to enforce security best practices and compliance requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of Group Policy configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve complex Active Directory and Group Policy issues. Plan and execute the rollout of changes to group policies. VMware Virtualisation Management: Manage and maintain a large-scale VMware virtualised environment. Implement security best practices for VMware infrastructure, including hardening configurations. Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues related to VMware hosts and virtual machines. Perform capacity planning and ensure optimal resource utilisation. Perform upgrades and migrations of the VMware environment. Security and Compliance: Ensure all systems and configurations adhere to relevant security standards and compliance requirements. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and best practices. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the seamless integration of systems and services. Contribute to the development of IT policies and procedures. Essential Skills and Experience: Extensive experience in Active Directory administration, with a strong focus on Group Policy management and hardening. Deep understanding of VMware virtualisation technologies (vSphere, ESXi). Proven track record of implementing security best practices in enterprise environments. Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
