Ongoing, full-time position Salary from: $106,534 per annum plus superannuation 242 Exhibition Street Melbourne office location & remote Position overview A fantastic career development opportunity to join our Compliance and Enforcement, Technical Advice team as a Senior Technical Advisor, Building. The role of the Senior Technical Advisor, Building is to provide expert technical advice to Regulatory Operations to drive operational outcomes. The Senior Technical Advisor, Building reports to the Manager, Technical Advice as part of a small team that liaises as a primary point of contact between Regulatory Operations and other VBA business units, with a primary focus on the Office of the State Building Surveyor (OSBS) for technical advice. Leveraging a sound understanding of building regulatory framework including the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, Building Code of Australia and National Construction Code, this role will provide advice to enable delivering a range of Building Inspection activities. Who we are looking for: Eligibility for Victorian registration as a Building Surveyor (limited or unlimited) or Building Inspector (limited or unlimited). Experience in a Building Surveyor / Inspector role within the private or municipal environment is highly desirable. Detailed knowledge and application of the building industry, regulatory frameworks, codes, regulations, standards and Government Policy in Victoria and/or other Australian jurisdictions, including experience in the practical application of relevant legislation and regulations. Experience providing quality technical advice to a range of stakeholders. Well developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare complex technical reports, briefing memoranda, stakeholder correspondence and recommendations.
