Ongoing, full-time position Salary from: $106,534 per annum plus superannuation 242 Exhibition Street, Melbourne office location & remote Position overview A fantastic career development opportunity to join our Compliance and Enforcement, Technical Advice team as a Senior Technical Advisor, Plumbing. The role of the Senior Technical Advisor, Plumbing is to provide expert technical advice to Regulatory Operations to drive operational outcomes. The Senior Technical Advisor, Plumbing reports to the Manager, Technical Advice as part of a small team that liaises as a primary point of contact between Regulatory Operations and other VBA business units, with a primary focus on the Office of the State Building Surveyor (OSBS) for technical advice. Leveraging a sound understanding of building regulatory framework including the Building Act 1993, Plumbing Regulations 2018 and National Construction Code, this role will provide advice to enable delivering a range of Plumbing Inspection activities. Who we are looking for: Registered or qualified to gain registration in all classes of plumbing work under Part 12A of the Building Act 1993. Detailed knowledge and application of the building industry, regulatory frameworks, codes, regulations, standards and Government Policy in Victoria and/or other Australian jurisdictions, including experience in the practical application of relevant legislation and regulations. Demonstrated experience providing quality technical advice to a range of stakeholders. Well developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare complex technical reports, briefing memoranda, stakeholder correspondence and recommendations. Experience in other specialised classes of Plumbing is highly desirable. Experience in an Inspector role (within a municipal or private environment) is highly desirable.
