The role The Service and Support Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional customer support by fostering and maintaining strong customer relationships through effective sales management. With a focus on business development, the Service and Support Manager facilitates efficient collaboration and accurate forecasting of parts and services, ensuring comprehensive support for customers throughout their equipment lifecycle, while leveraging current systems and processes. Areas of responsibility Lead the Service and Support Team in developing pipeline sales and managing overall revenue in the mining market. Foster and enhance customer relationships through participation in Management Teams, contributing to tenders and long-term contracts. Develop and draft Parts and Service contracts and tender scopes. Collaborate with Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Operations Managers to grow and maintain business, providing close customer support. Contribute to strategic plans for revenue expansion in Australia and New Zealand. Manage sales pipeline opportunities for proactive financial forecasting using the CRM system. Oversee opportunity budgets and business cases prepared by Sales Representatives. Develop the Sales Area business development strategy in alignment with the Business Area Strategy. Conduct market research and report competitor activities to maintain market competitiveness. Ensure the highest level of customer service and responsiveness. Lead and develop a high-performance sales team. Manage and control sales team expenses within budget. Oversee customer interaction and service satisfaction within the designated region. Your profile You hold a tertiary education in Business Management, Marketing, or Project Management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical sales role within the mining industry. You possess a deep understanding of the underground and surface mining sectors, including industry trends and influences. Your highly developed interpersonal skills enable you to negotiate effectively with senior decision-makers. As a strong communicator, you excel in setting targets and engaging with key stakeholders to deliver results. Your drive and determination ensure you achieve goals, resolve issues, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Additionally, you have demonstrated strong customer relationship management skills. A trade qualification and sales operational experience in the mining industry, particularly in managing a sales team, are desirable. Your commercial management experience, especially in preparing tenders and contracts, and your ability to manage a geographically dispersed sales team, are valuable assets. You have a proven track record in business development, with the ability to execute growth strategies and initiatives across various customer segments. Agencies need not apply.
