As the Sexual Health and Wellbeing Project Officer, you will play a pivotal role in our mission. Working predominantly with male youth and their families, you will implement, evaluate, and document vital sexual health initiatives that address the unique needs of our communities. With a base in Broome, your passion for health promotion will take you on a journey across the breathtaking Kimberley region. What You’ll Be Doing Your role is not just a job; it’s a calling to support and uplift your community. You will: Plan, implement and evaluate new sexual health initiatives tailored for male priority groups, collaborating closely with community partners. Enhance local sexual health initiatives, building capacity and fostering evidence-informed practices. Deliver engaging sexual health education sessions, empowering individuals with knowledge and resources. Support the professional development of the health service workforce, ensuring they have the skills to promote wellness effectively. We are looking for someone who resonates with our values and is driven to make an impact. You should possess: A relevant qualification or experience in Health Promotion, Population Health, Aboriginal Health Work, or Community Development. Proven experience in project implementation and health education delivery. A deep understanding of sexual health issues and a commitment to promoting sexual health practices. Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and a firm grasp of primary health care and population health issues. Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with a knack for building partnerships. A current C class WA driver’s licence and a willingness to travel regularly across the region. A current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one. Desirable qualities include previous experience in sexual health and within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, as well as connections to the local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
