We import products from all over the world to service local clients, amongst them are major players in construction, mining, and manufacturing. Role We are looking for a forward-thinking individual to join the business as a Shipping Manager in our shipping and logistics team. The successful candidate will be a key interface between shipping lines, traders, suppliers, clients, and transport companies. This role will suit a highly motivated individual who can think on their feet and provide all parties with a service experience that will be second to none. Daily responsibilities will include: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the shipping process from cargo readiness to shipping. Monitor freight rates and negotiate freight rates with shipping lines. Booking of cargo with container lines and bulk lines. Maintain relationships with carriers, negotiate shipping rates, and manage budgets. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Troubleshoot and resolve shipping-related issues quickly and efficiently. About the Person We are looking for an individual with a shipping background, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Someone who is not afraid to tackle problems head-on, has patience, is willing to learn, and pro-actively improve current systems to make our business more efficient. The ability to multi-function and juggle many balls at once will be key in this role.
