Shredder Supervisor Dayshift - Metal Recycling Norstar Steel Recyclers is a leading and environmentally conscious recycling company specializing in the processing and repurposing of metal scrap materials. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dayshift team as a Shredder Supervisor. This critical position will play a key role in overseeing the efficient and safe operation of various metal processing machinery used for processing scrap metals. Position: Shredder Supervisor Reporting to: Operations Manager Company: Norstar Steel Recyclers Location: Laverton North Responsibilities: Manage and supervise the shredder operations, ensuring the machinery operates efficiently and optimally to meet production targets. Ensure a steady and continuous workflow of all processes. Implement and enforce safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the well-being of all team members and compliance with regulations. Regularly inspect machinery and equipment to identify maintenance needs and coordinate repairs or maintenance with the maintenance team. Requirements: Ideally the right candidate will have experience in recycling or a related industry, with a proven track record in managing production and people. Strong production supervision background preferred. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team effectively. A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet production goals. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and senior management. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Please note this is a hands-on role that will require the use of some mobile machinery and at times some heavy lifting may be required.
