$120,000 – $130,000 per year based on experience Knox Transfer Station, in partnership with Knox City Council, serves as a vital recycling and trading hub for Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs. KTS Recycling is a leading transfer station in Victoria, dedicated to salvaging goods and diverting waste from landfill. KTS Recycling is Melbourne’s leading resource recovery and waste transfer station operator, with locations in Knox, Frankston, Coldstream, and Wesburn. We take pride in our e-waste recycling, fridge degassing, and mattress recycling services, and offer a recycled goods shop on-site, packed with quality items ready for a new life. About the Role As the Transfer Station Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff and subcontractors, and ensure the site operates efficiently and safely. You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with management, staff, and external authorities are essential. Your key responsibilities will include: Overseeing staff, subcontractors, and daily operations. Coordinating repairs, maintenance, and waste/recycling collections. Managing staff rosters, leave, training, and inductions. Monitoring budgets and financial performance with the General Manager. Liaising with councils, EPA, CFA, and other authorities. Ensuring compliance with EPA guidelines and maximizing recycling. Conducting site audits, inspections, and handling emergencies as Chief Warden. The Successful Applicant will bring Proven experience in the waste management industry. The ability to supervise teams, manage subcontractors, and handle operational challenges. A valid driver’s licence. Relevant Plant licences (excavator, forklift, wheel loader). Computer proficiency for managing site data and records. Strong commitment to safety and teamwork. A positive, ‘can do’ attitude. Dynamic working environment. Family-owned business with a supportive team environment. Ability to influence change on-site.
