The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our Credit & Payments services and infrastructure. Your day in the life of a Site Reliability Engineer at Optus Provide resolution of questions around system performance and incidents ensuring those incidents are resolved within current SLA’s and conduct technical presentations when required. Responsible for maintaining and delivering a reliable, scalable, secure performant platform while proactively identifying and mitigating issues within Consumer & Enterprise IT systems. Perform regular analysis of the applications, data, network and technical components of the Consumer IT systems. Provide SRE style support which includes Development style support for Ops issues to reduce toil and improve service availability in the process. Conduct root cause analysis and problem rectification, including data and software changes required to prevent a recurrence of the incidents. Responsible for clear documentation of run books to allow for other SRE’s to support the platforms. Responsible for uplifting observability and alerting, defining SLO’s & driving down MTTR. Provide 24 x 7 support when required for Incident management. Your skills to pay the bills Experience working in a SRE role specialising in Billings and Payment Operations. An extensive technical background in operations and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. The ability to use various softwares and tools within the Optus IT ecosystem in order to automate resolutions for our customer problems. Understanding of SaaS platforms. A growth mindset, strong management skills and a collaborative attitude. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
