Job Profile The O&M Electrician, as a member of BYCA’s O&M team, will be responsible for maximizing the output of our solar projects in the Orana/Central West region of New South Wales. The Site Technician will be an integral part of maximizing the output of the solar projects. Reporting to the Site Manager, the candidate will be involved in various preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and will have the opportunity to develop within the Operation & Maintenance field of large-scale solar farms, a fast-growing sector in Australia's renewable energy industry. The candidate will be based in Orana/Central West region, NSW. When: Immediate Where: Orana/Central West region, NSW Key responsibilities: Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: perform site preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including AC and DC electrical systems maintenance tasks and mechanical systems of the solar farm. Management of Subcontractors: collaborate with and supervise subcontractors and suppliers conducting corrective actions or defect rectifications. Supervision of Visitors: interact with and supervise visitors to the site, ensuring all safety and operational protocols are followed. Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment Compliance: Conduct all activities in accordance with BYCA Health, Safety, Quality, and environment systems, maintaining the power plant to a high standard and interacting with all stakeholders professionally. Key Characteristics: Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word Independent, organized, and self-learning Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in report writing Ability to work well in a team environment Experience in HV, SCADA systems, IT, photovoltaics or industrial automation is a plus Work Arrangements: 10-4 roster 76 hours per fortnight Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical industries. Experience in Solar O&M or EPC is highly desirable. Experience in operation, inspection, and preventative maintenance of power station and ancillary plant. Knowledge of industrial automation, industrial communications/networking highly desirable. Basic computing skills, including use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Teams). Education and Licences: Must be licensed to perform electrical work in NSW. Must hold an uninhibited driving licence. Plant operating licences highly desirable. First aid, low voltage rescue, and CPR training is appreciated but not mandatory (training/refreshers will be provided). EMPLOYMENT PACKAGE Permanent contract Basic salary $100k-$120k + super Company car, phone, and laptop.
