RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. About the Role: This is a Permanent Full Time (1 EFT) Grade 2 role in the Social Work Department. In this role you will be responsible for providing social and emotional assessment, support and intervention for children and families where issues are identified as impacting on quality of life and outcomes for the child. What You'll Achieve: Provide high quality clinical care to children and families presenting to RCH with a broad range of complex medical and psychosocial needs Contribute to timely decision making, transition or discharge planning and referral to community providers Support and counselling for vulnerable children and families in crisis situations including trauma, family violence, grief and loss Engage in quality improvement to enhance existing Social Work services to patients and families Your Skills and Experience: Social Work Degree from an accredited University/Course Eligibility for membership of AASW and meet AASW CPE accreditation standards Clinical experience recognised in related field of practice Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team Other requirements: Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain Valid Working with Children Check Compliance with RCH’s “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure Application process: To apply, you will need a resume and a tailored cover letter outlining your skills, experience, and suitability for the position in line with the requirements of the position description.
