In preparation for growth and success of our Clinical Services team, we have a newly created opportunity for a Specialist – Allied Health Care. As the Specialist – Allied Health Care , you will play a key role in delivering high-quality allied health services to our community aged care customers across Southeast and Central Queensland. Drawing on your extensive expertise and innovative approach, you will ensure the delivery of evidence-based care during intake, assessments, and therapeutic interventions. Your discipline-specific knowledge will drive excellence and innovation in community aged care, promoting positive customer health outcomes through evidence-based practices, specialist referrals, and collaboration with health professionals and service providers. This role is offered as Permanent Full-Time (Monday to Friday), with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements that include working from a Suncare office and from home. More about the role Reporting to the Team Leader – Allied Health Care, you will: Demonstrate extensive practice knowledge and clinical skills in the delivery of specialist allied health care services in the areas of falls prevention, pain management, dementia care or cognition. Lead, mentor, and support allied health practitioners and direct care staff in the delivery of evidence-based clinical interventions for Suncare customers and their families. Provide direct care services to Suncare’s HCP, CHSP and STRC funded customers and their families including proficiently performing specialty-specific procedures, and interventions. Provide discipline specific support and advice to the Team Leader – Clinical Care and Team Leader – Allied Health Care. Develop, implement, and evaluate tailored programs that meet Suncare customer needs and reflect best practices. Contribute and lead service innovations, quality improvement practices, and provide expert knowledge and advice in your practice speciality. Build and maintain strong communication and participation with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient practices. Take an active role in teaching, enabling others and the development of allied health education and training activities and resources. Foster a respectful and responsive workplace culture aligned with Suncare’s values as you lead with emphasis on quality, continuous improvement, employee retention, development, and high performance. What you will bring to our team: Post-secondary or tertiary qualification in Allied Health and current registration with AHPRA or other professional body. Evidence of post graduate studies in a clinical speciality or demonstrated extensive clinical experience in a specialist area, e.g. pain management, cognition and falls prevention. Active participation in allied health care specialist industry bodies to keep abreast of innovation and research and the demonstrated ability to apply continuous quality improvement principles in service development. Demonstrated leadership of staff including the provision of Clinical Supervision, the facilitation of clinical reviews and management of risks. Demonstrated experience and understanding of the impact of ageing on the lives of individuals, family members and supports. High level customer service skills and ability to form positive relationships with community members and stakeholders. Willingness to use your own appropriately registered and insured vehicle for work purposes and have current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
