Specialist Medical Practitioner - Alcohol and Drug Service (520150L2) Department of HealthCommunity, Mental Health & WellbeingCMHW - MH & Statewide Services Applications must be submitted by Tuesday 25 March, 2025 11:55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022, Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1-11 Employment type: Full Time Region: North Location: 13 Mulgrave Street, Launceston The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Specialist Medical Practitioner to join the Alcohol and Drug Service. The Role: Broad operational direction and support will be provided by the Area Manager ADS North and clinical Governance will be provided by the Clinical Director. The Specialist Medical Practitioner - ADS will: Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and with key stakeholders to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program. Be expected to exercise a significant level of independent clinical judgement in completing the primary tasks. Be expected to act with integrity and in an ethically honourable manner. Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible. Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award. In addition, the following allowances and benefits may be available: Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year. Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum. Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus on-call, pro rata of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid. Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum. Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Professional development and accelerated pathways. A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Other allowances as applicable. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as follows: Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty. *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
