Job Description Company: Trileaf Corporation is a nationwide environmental, architecture, and engineering consulting firm that assists clients with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and engineering and architectural design. From its headquarters in St. Louis, MO, and multiple branch offices throughout the U.S., Trileaf serves the wireless communications, commercial real estate, financial, and petroleum industries. Job Summary: Trileaf is seeking a full-time Senior Project Scientist with 3-5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) and Phase II ESAs and/or Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Review Reports and migratory bird evaluations. This position is based in our Orlando (Maitland), Florida office. Responsibilities: Conduct site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties, taking detailed field notes, photographs, conducting interviews, and performing regulatory agency file reviews. Review historic topographic maps, Sanborn maps, city directories, aerial photographs, title/lien search reports, environmental databases, and regulatory documents, followed by the interpretation of the compiled information and drafting of a standardized report in accordance with ASTM E-1527-21 (AAI). Conduct preliminary screenings of listed and/or proposed threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), and FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM). Interpret compiled information and prepare NEPA reports. Perform Migratory Bird Evaluations (MBEs) by conducting ground-based surveys of migratory bird nests on telecommunications towers. Essential Job Functions: Travel to project locations, taking detailed notes and photographs of sites (2-3 days per week). Conduct interviews in person, via email, and over the phone. Order and analyze government database records. Perform regulatory agency file reviews. Review historical data including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs. Draft standardized reports using information from various sources. Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of both management and clients. Complete requested revisions and submit reports within pre-established timelines. Conduct field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air. Compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards. Conduct preliminary screenings of listed and/or proposed threatened and endangered species and critical habitat. Review publicly available databases such as the Wetlands Inventory and FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps. Basic Qualifications: To be considered, the resume of the applicant must demonstrate the following qualifications/skills: Attention to detail Strong work ethic Valid driver's license Ability to conduct field work Ability and willingness to travel Good computer skills Independent worker Commitment to excellence Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Phase I Assessments (ASTM E1527) Experience with Phase II Assessments (ASTM E1903) Experience with NEPA Assessments Qualifications / Experience: 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification Licensed Asbestos/Lead-based paint Inspector Mold assessment/indoor air quality (IAQ) experience Property Condition Assessments (ASTM E2018) Transaction Screen Assessments (ASTM E1528) Record Search with Risk Assessments (SBA SOP 50 10 6) Environmental Professional (EP) Wetland Delineations Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography or related fields.
