About the role: We are seeking an experienced part time Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor to join our team at one of Melbourne’s most iconic 5 star hotels. Your primary focus will be to assist the Chief Steward in managing a large kitchen stewarding team and ensuring that high service delivery expectations within the F&B department are met based on company and client expectations. Key Responsibilities: Supervise the kitchen stewards and oversee the day to day operations of the stewarding department. Rostering, delegation of duties and administrative tasks as and when required. Train team members, ensuring they maintain a professional manner and are up to date with hotel events and the requirements of the kitchen. Manage and maintain a clean and tidy working environment for all hotel outlet kitchens, ensuring all kitchen stewards are doing the same. Work effectively within the stewarding team to ensure food hygiene and Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met. Ensure correct maintenance of all operating equipment and dishwashing machinery. Maintain, clean and tidy kitchen storerooms at all times. Work safely with chemicals to assist with the cleaning process. About you: We are looking for candidates who have the following qualifications: Proven experience within a 4-5 star hotel or similar F&B environment in a senior supervisory capacity. 4-5 star hotel experience in a high volume operation. Proven experience in meeting quality, safety and high service standards. Ability to work across a rotating 7 day roster. A strong understanding of Food Safety, HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. High motivation with an excellent work ethic, to get the job done to the highest possible standard.
