This role is ideal for a highly strategic and commercially savvy business leader with a deep understanding of asset management, engineering, and technology-driven market disruption. Key Responsibilities Business Model Validation: Refine and validate the commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs and investment opportunities. Commercial Partnerships: Negotiate high-value deals with corporate clients, global infrastructure leaders, and government agencies. Strategic Advisory: Provide executive-level insights on whether CAMS should scale as a startup, be acquired, or partner with major industry players. Revenue Growth & Monetization: Explore and execute commercial models to transition CAMS from a research-backed solution to a revenue-generating enterprise. To be successful in this position, you will bring: Proven leadership in commercializing SaaS or deep-tech solutions in asset management, infrastructure, or engineering. Extensive experience in business development, market validation, and securing high-value partnerships. A track record of raising capital, securing industry investment, or spinning out technology ventures. Deep industry knowledge in infrastructure asset management, predictive analytics, or engineering technology. Strong networks within the built environment, infrastructure, or property technology sectors. Exceptional strategic thinking, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work autonomously in a high-growth, agile environment, balancing commercial imperatives with strategic innovation. About CAMS & RMIT’s Innovation Ecosystem The Central Asset Management System (CAMS) is a next-generation AI-driven asset intelligence platform, developed from world-class research at RMIT. The system integrates IoT, predictive analytics, and engineering expertise to provide real-time insights into infrastructure health, enabling optimized maintenance, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
