About the role We’re seeking a Strategy Manager - Commercial Opportunities to play a pivotal role in driving the success of Customer Solutions and Australian Markets Partnering (CS&) by leading the realisation of value uplift through the identification and quantification of opportunities and bringing together comprehensive analysis and data-driven insights critical to facilitate the optimisation and transformation of Billing, Collections and Enforcement functions. As our Strategy Manager - Commercial Opportunities, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. Day-to-day, you will: Produce a comprehensive and insightful view of the end-to-end lifecycle from Customer trip to collection of funds, both with and without a tolling arrangement, identifying opportunities for improvements. Review the full financial journey to identify leakage and bottleneck opportunities for improvement, taking a data-driven lens and providing incremental enhancement recommendations to demonstrate value creation opportunities to senior stakeholders. Leverage insights to provide impactful recommendations into the design, governance, and ongoing refinement of Transurban’s Collections strategies. Utilise consulting frameworks to develop recommendations and influence key stakeholders within the development of proposals and business cases (including concept development, data, and financial modelling). Partner with Senior Analysts to drive greater value realisation, either in revenue uplift, cost reduction, or risk mitigation, and support capability uplift by providing development opportunities for Analysts. Contribute to the development of a continuous improvement roadmap of opportunities and initiatives designed to increase collections revenue while aligning to the CS& strategy. Work with the Senior Strategy Manager on deep dive financial strategies that inform the leadership team on the next best course of action and implement recommendations. This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: Prerequisite: Experience in strategy consulting - associate to consultant level in strategy consulting firms (McKinsey/BCG/Bain) or Consultant to Manager level in EY/Deloitte/PwC/KPMG/Accenture; with a data and analytics focus an advantage. Proven leadership experience within complex environments. Experience in Collections and Analytics, with the ability to conduct external research and benchmarking an advantage. Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches and consulting frameworks to synthesise information. Experience in manipulating and analysing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources. Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner. Proven track record of pragmatic commercial judgment to identify actionable opportunities that enhance processes and improve financial performance. Ability to triangulate different information and data sources to build effective business cases, clearly defining key business opportunities, outlining potential financial uplifts and impacts, and highlighting key risks. Familiarity with relational databases and SQL. Experience working with large data sets. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex findings and ideas in plain language. Passion for discovering and solving problems. Preferred: Consulting experience with a slant on data and analytics. Experience with programming languages, such as Python, an advantage. Experience with ETL tools, such as Dataiku, an advantage. Experience with Tableau or similar data visualisation tools.
