Job Description - Strategy & Pre Contracts Manager (263240) About the role UGL Services, Industrials & Resources East (IRE), are searching for a Strategy & Pre-Contracts Manager to join our highly effective and experienced Leadership team. This is a permanent opportunity and will be based in our Brisbane Corporate office. With an extensive secured base, renewal contracts, and new upcoming bids and tenders, we are looking for a driven and passionate person to join the team. Working closely with the IRE General Manager, you will take responsibility for building and maintaining strategy and implementing the growth and development framework to realize the IRE growth objectives. Playing a pivotal role in leading the Pre-Contracts Team, you will shape work-winning strategies and take accountability for building and leading a high-performing culture throughout the pre-contracts lifecycle. About the Role Undertake strategic market mapping to identify trends and customer needs. Develop and present market analysis, and proactively map out suitable markets and target clients. Understand drivers and win themes, identifying UGL’s strengths and capabilities for use as differentiators throughout tender submissions. Manage and mentor the pre-contracts team. Manage the tender bid budget allocation, and complete tender peer reviews as required. Ensure compliance with all UGL policies, procedures, and guidelines in a way that not only meets company requirements but also addresses commercial obligations, risk management, and protection of intellectual property. About You You will draw on your diverse skills and previous experience to create an environment where great ideas are heard, and everyone looks out for one another. Ideally, you will have: Understanding of commercial, contractual, financial, and legal issues. Tendering and bid management knowledge and understanding. Demonstrated understanding of corporate governance and approvals processes. Ability to drive bid strategy, incorporating partnering, client engagement, and delivery/commercial solutions. Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands. Excellent communication skills (oral & written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
