In Australia we own and manage the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine, and the Tropicana Gold Mine (70% AGA owned 30% Regis Resources). These are two of Western Australia’s premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site. The Opportunity Due to an internal move, we currently have a permanent opening for Superintendent: Training. This is primarily a Perth based (hybrid) opportunity on a Monday to Friday roster, however frequent travel to sites will be expected - due to this being an Operational training position. Reporting into the Manager: Health and Safety, you will oversee a small team of Training Advisors whilst establishing and maintaining comprehensive training frameworks that ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, risk management and continuous skill development while embedding a strong safety culture. Role Purpose: The ideal candidate will lead the strategic direction and delivery of site-wide training and development programs to build workforce capability across all operational areas and levels. The position drives measurable improvements in workforce competency through effective training governance, innovation in learning delivery, and collaboration with others, which includes site operational management teams, contractors and regulatory bodies. Accountabilities: Develop long term rolling training strategies aligned with site production forecasts. Build organisational capability to successfully deliver (apply & implement) the Safety and Training management plans. Identify and mitigate safety and environmental threats to the existing and future needs of the operation in line with anticipated future skill requirements. Skill developing across the operation through:- Training Needs Analysis (TNA) - identifying gaps in capabilities.- Competencies & Proficiencies assessments - measuring and tracking skill development.- In-field coaching & advice - providing practical, on-the-job guidance and mentoring. Collaborate with managers and operational teams to implement HSE training as a service to departments. Maintain cost centre/project budgets with defined deliverables. Effectiveness/Capacity improvement via systems (systematic improvement) – through LMS. Continue to develop and promote safe work practices through risk identification and management. Enhance and maintain a work culture that is reflective of AngloGold Ashanti’s values. About you: To be considered, we would like to see you have: Hold Relevant vocational or tertiary level qualifications in Training and Assessment and/or Safety Management. Proven working experience in mining or similar heavy industry at a senior level. Previous operational positions held. In depth knowledge and understanding of Regulatory knowledge pertaining to regulations and standards. Bring a solid pro-active approach to training and assessing with the capability to manage the design and delivery of training programs to employees. Comprehensive planning and organisation skills. Motivation to create a team culture of continuous improvement. Must have availability to go to site at least 1-2 times per week depending on training schedules. A National Police Clearance. Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory).
