In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Training Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive training systems and programs, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role involves guidance for trainers, collaboration with organisational leaders to assess training needs, maintenance of up-to-date training materials, and monitoring the effectiveness of training initiatives. Reporting to the Manager - Human Resources, Training, Camp & Travel, the key responsibilities of this role include: Setting direction and lead the training team, including leading by example and being consistent with the organisation values whilst actively promoting the development of proactive safety behaviours. Developing plans and programs as required by the business and by liaising with the Manager of the People Department. Implementing and executing training and development programs aligned with the organisational and departmental goals and objectives. Overseeing the timely delivery of required training and assessment activities including the scheduling and co-ordination of programs, venues, resources, to deliver scheduled training programs. Supervising and guiding a team of trainers to ensure consistent delivery of training content. With Department Managers, evaluate training needs and formulate strategies for achievement of organisational objectives including meeting with Department representatives on ensuring the relevant skills are being developed and available. Maintaining training materials so they are up to date with the latest industry standards and technologies. Maintaining training documentation and accurate training records for compliance purposes. About You: You must be a highly experienced professional who is self-motivated and able to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment holding the following qualifications and experience: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher. Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within the resources sector. Current manual driver’s licence. Strong computer skills across the Microsoft suite. Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated high level of commitment to safety. Well-developed coaching and mentoring skills. What are the benefits of working at Hidden Valley?
