Teacher Aide (Educational Interpreter - Auslan) - Indooroopilly State High School Education (Organisation site)Metropolitan North Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance Division Indooroopilly State High School invites applications from an enthusiastic and highly-motivated Educational Interpreter - Auslan Teacher Aide position. All applicants must have a high proficiency in Auslan. This role is being offered in a Part-time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight. About the Role: Indooroopilly State High School welcomes applications for this Educational Interpreter Teacher Aide (TAOO4) position. As an Educational Interpreter your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Interpret everything that is said in and outside the classroom environment and assist with the communicative needs of Deaf or Hard of Hearing students using Australian Sign Language (Auslan). Provide intervention to meet the spoken language or Auslan communication needs for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students within the class. Assist in the Deaf or Hard of Hearing student's understanding of the education program through teacher-directed tutoring. Prepare for interpreting by pre-reading appropriate materials such as lesson notes or vocabulary lists. Provide classroom and school-level support to enable an inclusive learning environment. Support class teachers and Teachers of the Deaf during classroom activities. Assist Deaf or Hard of Hearing students to develop confidence and independence. Maintain effective communication between students and teachers at all times. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position. Interested?
