Teacher Aide (Hospitality) - St Patrick's College, GYMPIE Position tenure: Fixed Term Weeks worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid) Tenure duration (where Fixed Term): 12 months Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 18 hours per week - required to work 3 days per week with potential for more days if required. St Patrick's College is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to assist in our Hospitality classroom. You will be required to support the Catholic ethos of the College at all times. Responsibilities include: Administrative duties including ordering stock, keeping stock inventories, and preparation and assistance in the Hospitality kitchen. Supervision of students, undertaking specific learning activities designed by the classroom teacher. Gathering of applicable resources, in cooperation with teachers. Supervision of students during playground and bus duties, during sporting activities and school excursions in partnership with a teacher. Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students. Assisting students with special needs in the classroom. Maintaining anecdotal records on students in Engage for use in reviewing students’ development. Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs and confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families. Providing support to teachers in behaviour management programs, learning support programs and to students requiring specific therapy programs. Possessing a high level of time management and work organisation skills. Managing stock orders, and ensuring schedules are followed for the maintenance of equipment. Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate. A mandatory requirement of this role is: In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
