The opportunity The Team Leader PMO, Cost Estimation & Risk at Greater Western Water (GWW) focuses on delivering exceptional service within a complex capital delivery portfolio, primarily related to infrastructure projects. It involves leading the Cost Estimation and Risk team and supporting Program and Project Managers in maintaining project costs and schedules across large initiatives. The role is vital for prioritising and managing the capital portfolio through effective reporting and frameworks, and it aims to enhance employee capabilities in cost and risk management. Additionally, it fosters a customer-centric culture while addressing the challenges of growth and post-merger integration, ensuring that infrastructure services remain reliable, affordable, and environmentally compliant. Responsibilities Exemplify leadership behaviours to foster a diverse and high-performing workplace, champion safety and customer-centricity, create a safe environment, drive team performance to meet business goals, communicate strategies from senior leadership, and manage employee performance effectively. Deliver Cost & Risk services to projects and programs of work, take responsibility for the end-to-end process for Infrastructure delivery. Provide advice at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted to achieve overall objectives successfully. Establish the project's success criteria related to time, cost, technical, and performance parameters, while providing Line of Defence 2 (LOD2) for the cost and risk plan. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to streamline cost and risk management processes, and ensure seamless integration with planning and reporting, while actively gathering feedback to enhance effectiveness. Skills & Experience Experienced in mentoring and developing junior team members to encourage training and professional growth. Skilled in managing large-scale projects, effectively navigating complex initiatives. Expertise in leading teams focused on risk and cost management to support project success and financial health. Strong collaborative skills, with a history of working well across business operations to build high-performing teams. Knowledgeable about risk management, change control, and reporting in complex project environments, including integration processes. Familiarity with cost management systems like Prism or Unifier is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including executives and boards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and BI reporting tools, with attention to detail. Experienced in building and maintaining long-term relationships both internally and externally. Solid background in implementing project management tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
