The Team Leader Economic Growth and Tourism is responsible for leading a team of economic development and tourism specialists to develop and deliver council’s strategic agenda, supporting our city to achieve its vision of a connected, sustainable business community well positioned for the future. This includes leading initiatives in place and business activation, investment attraction and business support such as business mentoring, buy local campaigns, precinct action plans and advocacy for our economic agenda. It also includes leading our innovative tourism projects, programs and services, spanning everything from marketing to our thriving commercial Visitor Information Centre. About You We’re looking for someone with experience motivating and managing teams, who understands how to achieve economic outcomes in a government context. If you know how to work toward a long-term vision while dealing with day-to-day operations, can collaborate, problem-solve, and work with stakeholders from industry, government, and other departments – we want to hear from you. Key Selection Criteria: Ability to build and nurture high-performing teams. Extensive experience in developing and implementing long-term strategies for economic development and tourism growth. A commercial mind-set with an understanding of how to work within a government environment. Demonstrated ability and experience in building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders for mutual benefit.
