Why This Role Matters J2SI is a case management service for long-term homelessness in Melbourne, offering intensive, individualized support to help clients secure permanent housing and improve their quality of life. The program provides case management, housing access, trauma-informed practices, skills for inclusion, and fosters independence. Delivered by a consortium of organizations including Sacred Heart Mission, The Salvation Army, Uniting Vic/Tas, and Vincent Care Victoria, J2SI also partners with local ACCOs to support chronic homelessness. The position involves providing leadership and supervision to Intensive Case Managers and the Peer Settlement Support Worker, collaborating with the J2SI Manager and ELC team, supporting program targets, quality frameworks, and continuous improvement, while helping clients maintain tenancies and pursue employment, education, and training. It also involves maintaining partnerships with local ACCOs to support the J2SI First Nations Worker. About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader for our Journey to Social Inclusion in a Full-Time capacity. This position is based out of Barwon . Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Grade profile SCHADS Award level 6 . Key Responsibilities Support J2SI Intensive Case Managers in providing high-quality case management and service coordination. Use the J2SI framework to measure and capture program outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of client records and data collection in line with policies. Assist in auditing staff client files to meet accreditation and DFFH auditing standards. Monitor team and individual service delivery performance based on targets. Contribute to a positive workplace environment, fostering teamwork and quality service delivery. Collaborate with local ACCO and First Nation Workers for culturally safe support. Participate in regular supervision with the J2SI Program Manager and provide supervision to Intensive Case Managers. Attend and engage in team meetings, service planning, and SHM all-staff meetings. Commit to continuous quality improvement in J2SI operations and follow TSA’s Strategic Plan. Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety policies, ensuring a safe work environment. Contribute to collaborative practice across the Services Division and J2SI Consortium. Ensure alignment with National and state strategic plans and the National Homelessness Stream’s Model of Care. Maintain links with Mission services and partnership agencies, contributing to J2SI evaluation. Provide Psychological First Aid for team and organizational support during critical incidents. Foster positive relationships with local services and agencies, attending relevant network meetings. Participate in regular supervision and mandatory training, contributing to the annual professional development process. Focus on relationship restoration, risk assessments, and trauma-informed care in practice. Foster positive relationships with J2SI team members, partners, and referral agencies. Support staff in integrating trauma-informed practices and outcomes measurement in case management. Demonstrate leadership in line with TSA’s Leadership Profile, monitor and recognize team performance. Participate in program planning meetings and contribute to a supportive workplace environment. Manage financial responsibilities, including budgets, expenditures, and cost allocation. Adhere to OH&S guidelines, ensuring personal and others' safety. Identify and address risks and opportunities in line with objectives. Manage information and data according to TSA frameworks and privacy policies. About You Degree qualification in social work, welfare, or related field, and/or management is desirable, and relevant experience in a social service environment. Demonstrates knowledge of housing sector including role, context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulation, and legislation. Understands and applies homelessness models, approaches, theories, and practices when dealing with clients, knowledge of the theory & effects of structural disadvantage. Demonstrates awareness of the issues (may include Homelessness, poverty, mental health, neglect, cultural issues, domestic abuse, substance issues, etc.) experienced by persons experiencing financial hardship or crisis. Recognises and identifies interrelated issues and how they impact on the presenting need. Understanding of the Victorian Homelessness & Housing service system, including legislative requirements. Experience in working with a range of stakeholders including representatives in Government Departments. A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. A current and valid Working with Children’s Check. A valid Victorian Driver's license.
