Senior Recruitment Consultant at The Andersen Partnership | Allied Health Are you an experienced occupational therapist looking for a leadership opportunity with more support, mentorship, and work-life balance? We are currently representing a client who is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist in a Team Lead role in a full-time capacity. This role involves overseeing mobile services for Homecare/My Aged Care clients, National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) clients, and Family and Community Services (FACS) clients. As a Team Lead, you’ll have the opportunity to manage a skilled team, all while maintaining a strong level of independence and making a significant impact in the field of occupational therapy. You’ll also receive ongoing guidance and support from seasoned professionals, including mentoring, strategy development sessions, peer reviews, and access to professional development opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Leading and supervising new team members, fostering the development of key competencies within the allied health industry. Overseeing quality control and continuous improvement strategies, including shadowing, report writing enhancements, training, and educational exercises. Managing a small caseload of assessments for clients with disabilities, medical conditions, and other barriers to independence. This includes functional capacity assessments, assistive technology assessments, living suitability assessments, and manual handling training. Facilitating trials of mobility aids, daily living equipment, and furniture, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and riser chairs. Leading manual handling training sessions and creating learning opportunities for clients and support teams. Collaborating with builders and tradespeople to assess and implement necessary modifications to improve accessibility and promote independence, such as ramps, rails, and complex bathroom modifications. Minimum Qualifications Required: A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting comprehensive assessments for clients with disabilities and medical conditions, including experience with report writing and NDIS. Professional indemnity insurance. Current First Aid certificate, COVID vaccination records, National Criminal Record Check (within two years), Working with Children Check (within two years), NDIS worker screener check (can be facilitated). A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle. A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy. Australian Health Professional Registration Agency (AHPRA) accreditation. A bonus: Experience with assistive technology and modifications to homes. Culturally and linguistically diverse therapists are encouraged to apply, especially those with a second language, as long as their English proficiency is excellent.
