THE ROLE The Technical Authorisation Manager is responsible for delivery of control functions relating to the public maintenance service contractors. The role involves the provision of professional advice, management of staff and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. A high standard of project coordination is required to ensure the implementation of systems to facilitate continuous improvement and that key performance indicators are delivered. As the Manager, you will also be responsible for translating strategic directions into successful service delivery, bringing commercial professionalism and a focus on achieving tenant-oriented and value for money outcomes. The Manager will also coordinate people management, business planning, budget management and reporting tasks. The role oversees the Technical Authorisation Team who are responsible for assisting the Housing Call Centre (HCC) in evaluating queries from contractors employed by the Department who carry out vacated and responsive maintenance works on the department's public properties and community buildings. The Technical Authorisation Team will use their trade and building skills and knowledge to review and accurately process contractor claims ensuring appropriate maintenance processes are undertaken, measured against agreed contractual and service delivery standards. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Oversee local delivery of integrated, multidisciplinary services that provide holistic client outcomes and ensure they meet state-wide departmental and government objectives, budget considerations and community expectations. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of issues impacting the department's clients and investigate and lead critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards, and operating practices to enhance service delivery, budget effectiveness, efficiency, and improved client outcomes. Forge strong connections across the department and with external stakeholders and collaborate on the strategic design and development of departmental objectives that impact state-wide or significant localised service delivery to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated services are provided for all clients.
