The role of the Business Analyst is to work collaboratively with T&T teams and stakeholders to obtain, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for Projects and other tasks as assigned by the Project or Iteration Manager of the Project. The role sits within DET Corporate Functions and will work very closely with Project and Iteration Managers; Development and Testing teams; Product owners and stakeholders to ensure the group delivers consistently high-quality results aligned with Suncorp business objectives. Key Accountabilities Understand the “As-Is” state and collaborate with Business SME’s to define the “To-Be” state aligned to project objectives. Use a range of information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements; synthesize information accurately, completely and coherently to produce designs that realize strategic and project objectives. Apply sound comprehension of Suncorp business context including strategy, key systems/process, and critical issues/constraints. Solve business problems using a methodical and consultative approach. Evaluate information and data to determine problems/opportunities/solutions. Support defining of MVPs; features/stories and benefits. Facilitate elaboration sessions; attend and facilitate other workshops as necessary. Undertake technical analysis; define and document business logic; mapping and governance and success criteria. Document and deliver Project artefacts as required. Assist in estimating for Delivery Phase. Assist in development of flight plan and milestones. Attend and contribute to agile ceremonies – Iteration Planning/Stand-up meetings/Retrospectives/Showcases. Proactively identify RAIDS (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies). Support development and testing team in understanding of requirements. Support test planning and execution. Contribute to Knowledge Transfer as required during and after delivery of project. Identify and call out improvement opportunities for project delivery. Perform other duties as necessary during delivery of project and as assigned by Project/Iteration manager. Work collaboratively maintaining ongoing dialogue and relationships with Stakeholders as part of continued solution development and support. Promote continuous improvement through involvement in review processes and demonstration of individual leadership skills. Key Stakeholder Relationships Internal Relationships: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with business customers. Work collaboratively with solution design peers and other technical peers. Work collaboratively with other internal areas (other parts of IT) as required. External Relationships: Work with external partners/vendors as required. Key Job Requirements Qualifications (indicate whether mandatory or desired): Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or associated field (Desired). Experience (minimum type and level of experience required to perform the role): Minimum 8 years’ experience in a business/system analyst role (Mandatory). Project lifecycle experience (Mandatory). Experience in finance projects and understanding of the related functional aspects (Mandatory). Experience in data related projects (Mandatory). Track record of working in a fast-paced collaborative cross-functional environment (Desired). Proficiency in working with distributed teams (Desired). Key Capabilities/Technical Competencies (skills, knowledge, technical or specialist capabilities): Ability to analyze customer requirements and provide innovative solutions or alternatives to meet those requirements. Strong internal consultation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Advanced facilitation and workshop skills. Ability for both ‘technical speak’ and ‘business speak’ and able to translate one to another. Advanced problem solving & troubleshooting skills; business research and analytical skills. Strong SQL, Data Analysis and Data Profiling skills. Knowledge of Business Process Modelling and associated tools. Knowledge of Data Modelling and Data Warehouse concepts (Desired). Understanding of Agile development practices. Ability to cope with pressure, prioritize workloads and meet agreed timeframes. Good knowledge of Insurance/ Finance domain (Desired). Knowledge of planning/forecasting, data reporting visualization platforms, e.g.: TM1/ Planning Analytics, Congo's, Tableau (Desired). Knowledge and experience of JIRA (Desired).
