Technical Business Analyst (IoT Hardware & Software Expertise) We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in IoT hardware and software integration. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs with technical solutions, focusing on IoT devices, sensors, embedded systems, and software applications. This role requires deep expertise in hardware-software interactions, connectivity protocols, and data analysis to drive innovative solutions. You will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements, translating them into actionable specifications for engineering teams, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will play a crucial role in the development and deployment of innovative IoT hardware products and solutions. Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for IoT hardware and software solutions. Conduct feasibility studies and assess IoT hardware configurations, connectivity options, and integration possibilities. Collaborate with stakeholders to define use cases, workflows, and functional specifications for IoT solutions. Develop technical documentation, process flows, and system architecture diagrams to support development teams. Work with embedded systems, sensors, microcontrollers, and communication modules (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, MQTT, etc.). Evaluate hardware components, recommend appropriate IoT devices, and optimize device performance. Understand and troubleshoot firmware and embedded software interactions with hardware. Assess power consumption, sensor calibration, data transmission, and device security. Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration between IoT hardware and cloud-based applications. Work with APIs, middleware, and edge computing solutions to process and analyse IoT data. Define data collection, processing, and visualization requirements. Ensure compatibility with AI/ML applications, dashboards, and real-time analytics. Assist in IoT device testing, firmware validation, and system performance evaluation. Work with QA teams to define testing protocols, edge case scenarios, and troubleshooting procedures. Identify hardware and software bottlenecks and recommend improvements. Act as a liaison between engineering, product management, and business teams. Work with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to source and validate IoT hardware components. Provide training and support to internal teams on IoT system functionalities. Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the IoT hardware space. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation. Evaluate emerging hardware technologies and recommend their adoption. Required Skills & Experience: 3+ years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role in an IoT-focused environment. Strong understanding of IoT hardware, embedded systems, and connectivity protocols. Familiarity with firmware development, debugging tools, and device security best practices. Experience with data analytics, cloud platforms, and API integrations. Knowledge of wireless communication standards and IoT network infrastructure. Ability to create technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, and process workflows. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in IoT product lifecycle management. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with industrial IoT (IIoT) applications, edge computing, or smart devices. Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping tools (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.). Understanding of IoT security frameworks and compliance standards. Familiarity with business intelligence tools and IoT data visualisation platforms.
