About the Role Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Director with distribution network design experience for our Perth CBD office. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality of service delivery and technical support for our engineers and designers. As a critical interface with local utilities, you will provide high-quality design services in a safe, reliable, and commercially responsible manner and be part of building a trusted relationship with our clients. This position allows you to leverage your extensive technical knowledge, experience, and skills to execute detailed design work and help us expand into other areas including renewables and mining. Key Responsibilities Be the subject matter expert in distribution connection and network design in accordance with Western Power and/or Horizon Power utility standards. Provide exceptional quality control support for the department, ensuring quality in our designs and delivery to clients in a timely manner. Provide guidance and training for engineers to develop their knowledge and skills in completing compliant constructable designs. Develop scopes of work through active engagement with customers, local authorities, landowners, and power utilities, utilizing network investigations, data analysis, and application of network standards and guidelines. Complete complex design projects for customer-driven distribution network and connection projects including commercial connections, generation connections, and large-scale underground power conversions. Manage client interactions while maintaining mutually beneficial professional relationships. Demonstrate a proven track record in ensuring quality standards through industry accepted quality assurance methods. Demonstrated excellence in overhead power line and underground network design and modeling and utility standards. Demonstrated excellence in design of asset relocations, reinforcements, and upgrades. Street lighting design, AutoCAD, and MicroStation drafting. Underground power network design (including subdivisions). What You Need to Succeed At least 10 years of continual experience with electricity distribution networks, particularly with Western Power and Horizon Power. A minimum of a BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. National Registered Engineer (NER) or Chartered Engineer certified (preferred but not essential). Proficiency in GIS, design, and drafting software. Experience in preparing designs, material lists, estimating connection costs, and securing customer approvals. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders. A project management and excellence in service delivery mindset. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Australian Resident. Why Join Us?
