Technical Projects Manager

Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Projects Manager to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity based at our Yarraville, VIC site. Reporting to the Yarraville Operations Manager, this position will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of capital, sustainability, and process efficiency projects, aligning with the site's strategic goals in efficiency, resource management, growth, and operations. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Providing process data and modelling to support capital and process efficiency solutions aligned with the site's strategic growth and operational plans. Contributing technical insight to deliver best practice solutions and ensure the site's sustainability strategy is met. Developing and implementing systems for knowledge transfer (technical and operational) to support operations functions across Sugar Australia. Supporting the development of site strategic plans to reduce energy demand, decarbonise operations, and maximise refinery capacity and efficiency. Assisting in generating and implementing safety and environmental capital projects. Leading operational improvement programs to enhance plant efficiency, output, energy reduction, and GHG emissions minimisation. Collaborating with internal teams, including the Technical and Engineering teams, to drive continuous improvement and best practices. What we're wanting you to bring to the table: Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Science, or a related field (desirable) 10-15 years of experience in the manufacturing industry or processing plants At least 10 years of experience in team management and 5-10 years in project management Experience in energy efficiency, process optimisation, and sustainability initiatives Strong strategic thinking, communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities Proven experience in driving change and a positive cultural shift within teams A self-starter with a results-driven mindset and strong ability to influence stakeholders Familiarity with systems such as SCADA, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite About Sugar Australia: Sugar Australia is the nation's trusted partner in sugar and ingredient solutions, enabling our customers to make great products for every home.
