Your future role An opportunity has become available to join us as our Technical Training Manager for our ANZ Service/Maintenance business. In this critical role, you will lead the co-ordination and development of all aspects of technical training and competency by working closely, and in partnership with Operational Management and site-based Training Leads and Coordinators. You will be responsible for embedding consistent and efficient technical training governance, process and practices, and managing and coordinating special processes applicable to Services. This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth, with a requirement to travel to other locations. We’ll look to you for: Arranging and performing induction & Training sessions. Ensuring all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational and statutory requirements. Developing in-house trainers’ competency for sustaining high-quality, cost-effective training. Managing the training budget, monitoring, and reporting on training activities, costs and performance. Supporting operational managers during recruitment processes, competencies assessment. Managing competence-based assessment scheme for all Safety Critical staff. Managing training material provided by Alstom. Managing trainee samples for getting special process qualification. Assessing relevant training needs for individuals and the organization. Ensuring training and assessment processes are audit compliant. Benchmarking and sharing best practices with other ALSTOM businesses and external companies, keeping abreast of new thinking on learning tools and technologies. Performing audits in the shop floor for evaluating knowledge by manufacturing and testing team. All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. Advanced investigative and analytical skills, to identify and implement best practice. Strong leadership, project management, planning and organizational skills. Experience in conducting in-depth training programs within industry, and ideally knowledge of Rail industry standards. Demonstrated ability in the production of training documentation/technical publications. Ideally have a background in Engineering, Trade (Electrical, Mechanical or similar) or experience working within a similar role as a Trainer.
